New Hospital Wayfinding and Design Course

IDEA announced today that its summer schedule will include a 4.0 hour course on ”Hospital Wayfinding and Design.” The course is designed to provide architects, interior designs and healthcare professionals with an introduction as to how people navigate in hospitals and medical centers and ways of improving getting from Point A, to Point B and beyond. The course will also examin principles of hospital wayfinding and the difference between preceptions and realities. The course will also discuss ways of improving the user experience and decreasing stress.

Bike Week Cruising on the Tequila Sunrise

While the cycle I have in mind for bike week in Daytona is a bit more traditional in appearance, as a designer, the Tequila Sunrise has peaked my interest for cruising down Main Street. The Tequila Sunrise is the brain child of Jason Battersby, a design student at Umea, who builds each by hand using both traditional metals and fiberglas.

IDEA Sets New 2,383 Mile Two Week Record

IDEA announced today that Jeffrey Wilson has broken IDEA’s record for teaching Continuing Education courses within a two week period. Mr. Wilson during the month of May taught five class in four states and drove over 2,383 miles to provide required learning units advance of summer license renewal dates in Delware, Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland and North Carolina.

Introduction to Wayfinding Added to Schedule

In response to a number of requests, IDEA has announced today that its continuing education class schedule for this summer will include its course “Wayfinding: An Introduction to Navigating Space and Human Behavior in Design.” This course provides architects and interior designers with an introduction to how people mentally navigate space and the differences between perceived reality of what we think people do and what they actually do.

Please note that the course will be offered in Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland, North Carolina in advance of their license renewal dates. The course will also be offered in Washington, D.C. and Virginia this summer.
